Probably used to be more $. Have modded at several places. Been paid with sportsbook accounts at more than one place at times, neteller was was a reliable method, then paypal.

It can be great additional income. It's a part time job, with full-time hours LOL.

At any gamblin forum? At most smaller forums MODS do it as a nice little hobby and expect nothing but a bone thrown their way once every so often, especially nowadays.

I've always wondered what exactly a mod's working hours are and what they are responsible for. anyone?

Evidently they are responsible for RRing this thread.

depends on the place, at most general interest forums ( like say a forum for auto mechanics or appliance repairmen) mods are volunteers and unpaid.

Rx mods and EOG are probably the best paid, but I'm guessing about $1500/month for a top end, a bit more for a Wilheim ( maybe 2k).

It's not really a career or meant to be one. Very few mods get paid anything outside of degenerate gambling forum mods.

MIKE/JOURNEYMAN SAID HE WAS MAKING $2,500 A MONTH HERE AT THE RX WHEN HE WENT CRAZY ABOUT BEING FIRED.I DONT KNOW IF THE F-CKING IDIOT WAS EXAGERATING OR NOT BUT THAT IS THE FIGURE HE GAVE.

BOYS WHATEVER THEY PAY ITS NOT WORTH IT YOU ARE THEN OWNED BY THE COMPANY AND HAVE TO KEEP POSTING AND DOING WHATEVER THEY TELL YOU.JUST LOOK AT THE STUPID TOPICS JOURNEYMAN STARTS JUST TO START THREADS AND MAKE THE FORUM LOOK BUSY.YOU HAVE TO BE A REAL NO TALENT LOSER TO BE ONLINE OVER 10 HOURS A DAY TALKING RAGTIME.BEING A MODERATOR EVENTUALLY WILL CATCH UP TO YOU I DONT THINK LOOKING AT A COMPUTER SITTING ON YOUR ARSE FOR 10 HOURS IS TO HEALTHY FOR YOU IN THE LONG RUN.

No one likes to tell what they earn.

Regarding moderators a lot depends on length of service, loyalty, quality of work, overall attitude, ability to get along with co-workers, attention to detail etc. and quite natrually head mods make more than regular mods like in any business where someone who is held responsible for keeping a place running smoothly earns more than his co-workers who don't have to bear that burden but trust me all mods here at The Rx. earn what they make.

Most do this part time but I do not. Also consider that I am just 3 months short of being Head moderator for three full years (an Rx.com record).

I only work at one job because it is full time and actually live well along with my wife on what I earn. We have a beautiful home with a decent ride and eat very well.

So you figure it out (clue rent is $800 per month for the house). I would starve on some figures I have seen qouted.

The other end of the spectrum are junior moderators who are new and working their way up the payroll ladder.

In the end moderating a huge website like the Rx.com can be a lot of work and the upper management here realises that.

I have always worked hard to get as much pay for my mod team per month as possible.

wil.

PS. I would put very little credence in what a recently a departed and very dillousional ex-moderator has to say about what he was making here at the Rx.com when he decided to quit.

So Wil kinda says J-Man didn't make 3k a month, he was paid less, but implies he makes over 2k a month, maybe 3k as the main man ? 3k a month and living in CR would be pretty damn good, I think !

It would depend on the Mod and their duties, and connections.

All seem to do something else besides being a Mod, except for perhaps SS. He seems to be the exception that is closest to a career Mod, and has a lot of contests and stuff to tend to.

OMT seems to be a part-timer with little to do, thus he should get much less.

I have turned down $500 a month more than once to be a mod ( elsewhere). I know some guys get 1k a month at lesser sites. Some guys at even lesser sites get thrown a free account here and there as compensation.

It's a tough way to make a living. You could be forced to accept a paycut or quit ( Fishhead ?) at anytime. Unlikely to get a raise, no insurance or pension, no union, no real transferability of mod skills. It's not like you're a competent electrician, get pissed at your boss at one company... you can go work for another contractor.

Few options exist for a Mod to get another Mod job !

It's a very unstable "job" that can end at anytime.

Look at Mod turnover rates.
